Give Kourt Her Free
We were introduced to the Kardashian/Jenner clan back in 2007 when Keeping Up With the Kardashians aired. The family wasn’t as well known outside of their Calabasas/Beverly Hills circle except Bruce Jenner and his Olympic and Wheaties fame. The name Kardashian was known because of Robert Kardashian, part of OJ’s legal dream team. So how does a deceased lawyer’s family and new patriarch who wasn’t in the news score a reality show? Two words; sex tape. But that’s old news and this is about Kourtney.
Kourt, the oldest of the clan was introduced to us back in 2007 as a fun outgoing once college student, business woman and anchor of the family boutique Dash. Her beau Scott wasn’t as nice to her as her family would have liked but she loved him and we have watched her have 3 children with him on TV. Everyone remembers her pulling her son Mason out of her body with ease. Kourt weathered a whole lot of Scott drama and stayed likable over the years as we watched her be a good mother.
We watched Megan Markle and Prince Harry exit a situation that no longer served them with grace and we applauded them. Why is Kourtney staying where she is merely being tolerated and no longer celebrated? Yes, this is a family business but every single family member is making money outside the TV show. Rob exited many seasons ago and Kylie didn't appear on the series at all the season she was pregnant. The show went on. The 3 older sisters were the center of the show in the beginning and it made sense since the little ones were babies back then. Now the little ones are a supermodel and a cosmetics billionaire in their 20s. It would make sense for Kim, Kourtney and Kylie to be anchors of the show now because of their similar interests and work ethic.
Kourt has interests that differ from her family and that is okay. She’s into natural deodorants, natural foods, gentler chemicals and raising her kids in a way that makes sense to her. Her brand is not the glitz and glamour that her sisters and mother thrive off of. This has been clear for the last 5 seasons at least and she expressed it repeatedly last season. This show no longer serves her at all. She has to go to therapy and fights with her sisters over not wanting to be on the show. They think she needs to suck it up like them and make this money. She is too grown to sit in front of a camera crew to pretend and is waaaayyyyyyy over it.
Why doesn’t she gather her things and go? It makes no sense that she would continue to torture herself on national TV in the name of ratings. And why isn’t her family respecting that her path is not their path and that is okay? Does family unity mean that you go crazy keeping up with something that does not align with who you have grown up to be? Can you still be loved and be a part of your family if you choose your own path and not follow what the rest are doing?
It is possible to live your best life on your own terms and Kourt needs to realize this sooner than later. She has all the tools from her therapy sessions and needs to express herself in a concise way cause this lashing out ain’t good for anybody. There’s a ton of us out here rooting for her to GET OUT. It’s allowed. Now is the time. Onward.
